Nepal Thus Far

Hello from Nepal! I wanted to give a brief update on what's been going on in my trip so far. For those who don't know, I'm currently on a service trip visiting children's homes. So.. the short story is that it's been INCREDIBLE!!!! Like wow, I knew from people's testimonies and sharing what it might be like but to actually live life with the Nepali people? I love every moment of it. For me, one of the major ways I express love is through my camera and coming on this service trip opened my eyes to a whole new perspective. As a photographer, something I enjoy looking for is people's eyes because they give me a glimpse of the lives behind them and that was evermore evident to me during this trip.

The thing is, I generally plan trips for myself. To sightsee, to be in awe, to enjoy... and I do plan on coming back in the next couple years  to trek the Himalayas. However, I will also be coming back for the people because they have become friends, brothers and sisters.. and I look forward to seeing them again.

There's so much more to say and to share but I'll leave that for a time when I'm back stateside and I can type through my computer. My goal as a photographer is to tell a narrative - sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. Although this is only an abbrieviated post, I hope that you all may see this narrative through my photos.
